Christchurch Chapter

Our Chapter Leader is: Dirk Erasmus.
I joined CMA-SA (South Africa) in 1990. I’d never owned a bike at that stage, nor ridden one. At the International Christian Motorcycle Convention (ICMC) – (CMA South Africa’s 10th Anniversary) that year I met people that love God and are crazy about bikes, like me! Immigrating to New Zealand in 2008 was hard, but by Gods grace and guidance we settled. In 2014 my wife and I bought ourselves new motorcycles and joined CMA-NZ. We started the CMA chapter in Christchurch and are looking forward to enjoying riding our motorcycles and serving our fellow bikers.

Our Secretary is: Elizabeth Erasmus.
I grew up with motorcycles. I’ve always loved riding motorcycles. I joined CMA-SA in 1994. I Was part of CMA-SA until 2008 when my Husband and I immigrated to New Zealand. After 5 years on the South Island’s West Coast (Greymouth) we moved to Christchurch and we purchased motorcycles again. We joined CMA-NZ.  We believe in what CMA stands for. I love riding motorcycles but more than that I love Jesus. Doing the things I love for the King is such an honour and privilege. Serving with CMA brothers and sisters to reach and share the Gospel to other bikers is an exciting and wonderful journey. Come and join us!

Our Treasurer is: Hendrik Ludick.
My older brother’s love for motorcycles got me interested in motorcycles and I have been riding motorcycles for the last 40 years. My wife and I were riding together and then later my son joined in on his little 125cc shortly before we, together with our daughter, immigrated to New Zealand in 2004. I bought a motorcycle soon after we arrived and was riding on my own till 2007 when I met a friend at church with the same love for motorbikes and wanting to use that as a vehicle to reach other bikers. We set up a website and started riding and just being out there, met friends and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. We then looked on the internet for some ideas on how to attract more riders and stumbled on the CMA Christchurch connection. Instead of ”reinventing the wheel” so to speak, we both joined CMA Christchurch Chapter in Oct 2015 as their mission and values were what we stand for and wanting to do.

Our Road Captain is: Jason Coetzee.
Hi, my name is Jason Coetzee.  I am (at the time of writing this in 2016) 49 years old and I live in Christchurch.  I originated from South Africa and came to New Zealand to live in 2003.  I am married to a Kiwi and have 4 kids.  I became a Christian later on in my life and have never looked back. I have a great passion for motorcycles and riding. I was looking to combine my two loves and found CMA. I am looking forward to many rides with fellow Christian riders in the future and to expand our group.
